INSTALLATION & AIR TREATMENT

Whether you buying a new compressor that needs installing with a ring main distribution system, are re-locating your existing equipment to new premises or just modifying your arrangements, we can offer a modern solution to exactly match your needs and in full compliance with current Regulations.

Unlike steel pipework which is both expensive to install or modify and also prone to rust, our leak proof aluminium Infinity pipework system is quick to install, suitable for all pressures or temperatures and offers very high flow rate performance. It is also extremely versatile when it comes to future modification if you should find yourself altering or expanding your arrangements.

As a general tip always reduce air leaks in your pipework where possible because a typical industrial system can have leak rates of over 25%, which your compressor is running to maintain.

DRYERS, FILTRATION & CONDENSATE MANAGEMENT

Compressed air from a compressor contains considerable quantities of water vapour which will condense to liquid as it cools, causing corrosion/damage to the distribution system and to your equipment using the air. The most effective means of ensuring that no water contamination can occur is to treat the air through a dryer, installed as part of an integrated compressor package or standalone unit.

Industrial environments can often be heavily contaminated with over 100 million particles of contaminants in every cubic metre, the majority of which are below 2 micron and therefore too fine to be trapped by air compressor intake filtration. Most industrial applications will require compressed air to varying levels of quality which can be easily achieved with the use of downstream filtration, typically a 2 stage dust/oil removing arrangement, sometimes supplemented with an oil vapour a 3rd stage filter to provide completely clean air.

We can supply compressors with either integrated air treatment or stand-alone packages to provide anything from general purpose clean dry air through to more critical applications such as breathing, food processing & medical application.

Since 1991 disposal of oil contaminated condensate from compressed air systems has been controlled by the Water Resources Regulations, making it illegal to discharge untreated condensate into sewers, drains or soil. 1 litre of condensate is sufficient for spoiling 1,000,000 litres of drinking water so breaches of these regulations can result in heavy fines. AW Phillips Ltd can provide low cost solutions in compliance with the Reg’s by arranging automatic drainage of condensate from air receiver/filters/dryer to an Oil & Water Separator, where the oil is filtered out leaving cleansed water for disposal in the usual way.
